Are you a teachaholic too? Do you have trouble finding balance for your passion for teaching and your home life? Do you suffer from teacher burnout? Here’s some tips to help you manage your time most effectively and keep your passion for teaching burning.
How to Find Balance as
We All Struggle
I’ll be honest. I’ve been struggling lately to find time, energy, and joy for teaching, running a business, running a household, and relaxing lately. It seems like things I used to love have become a burden.
So what is a teacher to do?
I already wrote about some ways to relieve anxiety that you can use in the classroom. But I’ve been going through something totally different lately. Lesson planning seem like such a burden. Creating resources for my students seems so unachievable.
And yet, I’m not going through a depression. I don’t even feel anxious and overly stressed. In fact, my life has calmed down a bit in recent weeks and I feel at peace. But, not motivated for teaching like I was a couple months ago.
I’ve found myself procrastinating. Putting off my teaching responsibilities that I never run out of motivation for. I even got caught up on laundry! In the six years I’ve been married I’ve never been caught up on laundry! What is up with me?
Do you go through these periods too? Comment below or email me to let me know! I’ve decided to do a series on Balance, since this is what has been on my mind for the last couple months. So stay tuned!
